Aims

The long term aim is to build Moray Spirit of Brass into a major world festival with artists performing all over the North East of Scotland. Aiming to show how versatile and dynamic brass music can be it brings some of the world�s top musicians to Moray, allowing the community to enjoy world class entertainment in their local area. It aims to maximise the opportunities and benefits for local musicians as well as providing enjoyment for the whole community. Moray Spirit of Brass aims to put Moray on the brass music map.

Benefits

There are 4 main areas of the community which benefit from Moray Spirit of Brass, tourists, schools, general community and local brass musicians. As well as the concerts, the top musicians taking part in Moray Spirit of Brass also offer workshops, masterclasses and community events. The festival provides education as well as world class entertainment. As well as celebrating brass, the festival is also a boost to local business, in particular hotels and restaurants.

The Future

For the foreseeable future, the main Spirit of Brass weekend will run every two years with a large profile concert, fund raising events and local band features in the interim year. The next Spirit of Brass weekend will be in June 2011. Planning is already under way to ensure an exciting and varied programme.
