The Moray Spirit of Brass Festival
Founded in 2005, Glenn Munro's dream of establishing a Moray festival celebrating the diversity of brass music came into fruition. In that year acts such as the Scottosh Coop Band and RSAMD came to Moray and dazzled the local community. It was a huge success and there followed another Spirit of Brass weekend in 2006 and a slightly smaller event in 2007. At that point the decision was made to make the weekend every 2 years to allow more organisational and fund raising time to develop a larger festival. It is one of the only community brass festivals of it's kind on the country and brings together all aspects of brass from classical and brass band to jazz and swing. The event has so far attracted some of the finest exponents of their craft and has also promoted local talent.
