Spirit of Brass

Spirit of Brass is one of Scotland's premier brass festivals boasting a unique community involvement and the only festival dedicated to brass music in the North of Scotland. Founded in 2005 by Elgin's own Glenn Munro, Spirit of Brass is now run by an active committee driven by Glenn's passion in great brass playing.

An annual event Spirit of Brass is held in various venues throughout Elgin, Moray and includes all aspects of brass from classical to jazz and brass band to folk. Previous years have featured brass greats such as Bruce Adams, Fine Arts Brass Ensemble Ryan Quigley, Bones Apart, and Salsa Celtica to name a few. Alongside these brass greats, the festival as actively supporting students and graduates from the RSAMD and local North East bands, providing invaluable encouragement to young and aspiring brass players.
